Thunderbird 0.7 released

Thunderbird 0.7 is out! New stuff includes:

  • New Themes and Extension Manager (similar to firefox; includes automated updating)
  • New interface for viewing vCards
  • New Profile Manager - supports running from a USB device
  • Color quoting for quoted message parts
  • New interface for creating multiple identities per account
  • Smaller download - The Windows Installer is now only 5.9MB.
  • Improved Performance
  • Talkback
  • Plenty of bugfixes and more in the release notes

So what are you waiting for? Grab the windows version from here, or other versions (Linux, MacOSX) from the FTP directory.

Thunderbird is the standalone version of the mozilla suite's email client, plus improvements. It goes along with Firefox (Browser) and Nvu (HTML Editor - i.e. Composer). It's got a good interface and excellent spam filtering built-in, and it's significantly less prone to automated viruses than other email clients. It's a perfect replacement for Outlook Express.
